Features
Custom Ethernet protocols within the M580
Non-Industrial standard Ethernet protocols may now be written using Structured Text within the M580 application. IODDT variables provide control of up to 16 sockets through the PMEUCM allowing the M580 to be client or server for the custom protocols. Data for each socket is sent/received using arrays of bytes under M580 control.
16 Sockets for client or server
The TCPOPEN PMEUCM application allows the M580 to control up to 16 Ethernet sockets. Each of these may be configured to be either a client or server for TCP or UDP operation. Full control of local and remote socket numbers is provided through IODDT variables.
Two independent front panel Ethernet ports
TCPOPEN sockets may be used on either of the two front panel Ethernet ports on the PMEUCM0302. These ports are completely independent of each other and the M580 Ethernet backplane. All of these Ethernet ports have independent IP addresses, subnet masks, and default gateways. Ethernet packets may not be routed between any of these ports.
Front panel LCD for troubleshooting
The PMEUCM includes an LCD display and joystick for easy front panel troubleshooting. Screens are provided to show the status of each socket with details of port number, IP addresses, etc.
Debugging web server
The TCPOPEN application provides a built-in web server to help troubleshoot communication on each of the sockets.
