System Setup
The setup of the system begins with downloading the export.csv file from the HotSOS platform, for the configuration of the rooms. This file is then referenced by the SmartConnector Extension, for setup. This will run once and create the EWS endpoint to represent all the discovered rooms. This endpoint can then be consumed by an EcoStruxure™ product such as EcoStruxure™ Building operation.
The EWS endpoint has a custom SetValues process build in, meaning that when the status of DND,MUR,GIR are changed within EBO, the values are immediately sent to the HotSOS system.
System Refresh
All of the room values are refreshed (recommended) every 10 seconds by the HotSOS update processor. This is a scheduled process that can be configured to run down to a minimum of 5 seconds, up to every 10 minutes. This process also handles the creation of the services orders for a room. The user within EBO can set a type of service order, and trigger a boolean point to trigger the setting of this task within HotSOS, such as a maintenance request. The ID assigned to to the task will then be returned to EBO. This task is raised against a predefined user ID setup at configuration, and used for identifying the EcoStruxure™ system.
Uses
A use case can be identified around the transitioning of the supported values to the HotSOS system, based on a Schneider Electric connected room solution.
The room controller may have buttons to allow the occupant to set DND, which will then be sent to the HotSOS system from EBO.
This is possible as the device has communication to the headend, via an open protocol.
The EBO system can keep track of the run time hours for the fan coil unit within the room, raising a service request, when it is time to service the unit.
