Overview
Reusable reference design for IEC large Hospital
The Hospital digital & electrical distribution reference design is based on the IEC 60364-7-710 standard for medical location recommendation dealing with Groups 2, 1 and 0 as medical locations with 0,5s; 15s; over 15s energy availability requested performance, respectively.
The single line diagram is composed of an N+1 diesel generator and UPS backup systems and a 2N path to maximise the energy availability performance and to optimise CAPEX.
Digitisation reinforces continuity of service with monitoring and remote-control systems, reduces electrical shock with IT network power supply for operating wards and reduces fire risks thanks to thermal monitoring in MV/LV switchgear or arc fault detection devices in distribution boards. Digitisation also improves operational efficiency through condition based maintenance reporting.
