IEC61499 Automation System In A Wastewater Treatment Plant

IEC61499 Automation System In A Wastewater Treatment Plant
Overview
Industrial Automation TVDA
This TVDA is a part of collection of documents that addresses the deployment of the IEC61499 programming standard with EcoStruxure™ Automation Expert software for applications in the water segment. This document specifically addresses wastewater treatment applications.
Universal Automation is the world of plug-and-produce automation software components enabled by the IEC61499 standard, which extends and enhances the IEC61131-3 standard. It solves the problem of supporting the portability, configurability, and interoperability of application software across vendors and, at the same time, software and hardware independence.
An asset-centric model as implemented by Automation Expert enables digital continuity. It connects information through a set of software at the engineering, supervision, and asset-management levels to drastically simplify the engineering design and implement consistency across the entire project software suite. The digital continuity concept will heavily influence the future of application design, but this current document focuses primarily on the traditional application design of an automation project. Digital continuity will be covered in more detail in subsequent document releases.
